Google Mode Watchbands Can Let You Swap Your Android Wear Style In A Snap

Google makes things easier for Android Wear owners to switch styles with the new Mode watchbands.

At first glance, they look pretty plain, just like how most traditional bands appear to be, but the appealing feature lies in how convenient it is to swap from one band to another thanks to a snap-and-go mechanism.

"With Android Wear, you can wear what you want with watches from 12 different brands and thousands of interchangeable watch faces. And while you can change your watch face with just a tap, it has not been as quick and easy to change your watch band. Starting today, updating your style is as easy as 'snap-and-swap,'" Google says.

What's more, it's a versatile line of bands, as each one can be fitted with normal watches too, not to mention that third-party companies can jump on the bandwagon and use the Mode brand for their products when they satisfy the requirements and comply with the guidelines of Google.

Google partnered up with b&nd by Hadley-Roma to create Mode, developing high-quality bands for Android Wear users everywhere.

It's also worth mentioning that there are already swappable watchbands for Android Wear out in the market, but this is the first time that Google-branded bands rolled out.

To start things off, Mode is available in silicone for $49.99 and leather for $59.99 via the Google Store, Amazon and Best Buy. On top of that, there are four sizes to choose from — 16 mm, 18 mm, 20 mm and 22 mm — and 16 colors up for picks, ranging from red, green and yellow to white, gray, black and brown.

As for what else is in the box, it comes with adjustable pins and a tool to set them in the timepiece.

Notable Android Wear smartwatches that are compatible with Mode include the second-gen Moto 360, the Asus ZenWatch 2 and Huawei Watch, to name a few.
