We were left hanging on the edge of our seats when season 5 of Game of Thrones wrapped up last spring, and it feels like we've been holding our breaths ever since. It's time to let out a long exhale, because the wait is finally over — Game of Thrones is back on tonight.
That means you are probably starting to feel less anxious and more excited, and after watching all the promos so far, how could you not be?
Let's face, you are already trying to figure out who will make it out still breathing this time around. Don't worry, Jon Snow, hope is still alive.
However, since death is the only thing you can think about right now, you might want to take two minutes and give yourself a quick refresher on all that went down last season.
Then, it's time to finally get mentally ready for the main event. However, all the anticipation might have you forgetting exactly what time the premiere will air and how you will watch.
Here's your guide to finding out where you can play the season 6 premiere of Game of Thrones.
How To Watch Game of Thrones On TV
There is nothing better than watching all the plotting and brutal death scenes than on the big screen. That's why many of us find ourselves with popcorn in hand as we take our places on the couch on Sunday nights. Unless you've been living under a rock (or decided to start watching the series this season), you probably already know that Game of Thrones airs on HBO.
When exactly is GoT on? Be ready for the big premiere on HBO tonight (April 24) at 9 p.m. EDT. Moving forward, new episodes will continue to air same place, same time every Sunday.
How To Watch Game of Thrones Online
While some of us subscribe to HBO to be able to watch original series like Game of Thrones, others may have recently decided to cut the cord. That doesn't mean that you won't be able to tune in. Viewers will be able to watch the premiere on the cable network's standalone streaming service HBO Now starting tonight at precisely 8:57 p.m. EDT.
For just $14.99 per month, the service lets users stream all HBO content, including new episodes of GoT available every week from their desktop, mobile devices, Chromecast, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV stick and Xbox.
However, if you do have HBO, you can also watch online via its on-demand service HBO Go. Users will be able to stream the season 6 premiere, also starting at 8:57 p.m. EDT. All you have to do is have your HBO log-in in hand. HBO Go also has all the episodes from previous seasons, in case you wanted to refresh or catch up.
Fans can also wait to stream the series from Amazon Video, but expect the entire season's episodes to be released together way after they air. If you prefer to binge-watch anyway, just make sure you have your GoT spoiler Chrome extension installed until then, so that you don't have all the scandal, deaths and shocking sex scenes ruined for you before you've had a chance to see them for yourself.
How To Watch Game of Thrones On Your Smartphone
So, maybe you just can't sit in front of the TV or laptop when GoT airs. That's OK, because you can stream the premiere right from your smartphone. The best way to watch on your phone is by downloading the HBO Go or HBO Now app.
Then again, you could also just wait for the episodes to be available for purchase on iTunes or Google Play. That option, however, does mean you will have to wait, and that's probably something you just don't want to do.
No matter how you watch the season 6 premiere, just make sure you do, because we already expect it to be something you won't want to miss.
