Acer unveiled the new Iconia Tab 10 at a press event, touting the device as being equipped with a 10-inch full HD display, four front facing speakers and a slew of software optimizations.
The new Iconia Tab 10 is the company's latest iteration to its Iconia lineup and is designed to cater to media buffs as well as those who are in the market for pocket-friendly devices.
"The Iconia Tab 10 is a durable and share-friendly tablet that's perfect for indoor and outdoor adventures," states the product description on Acer's official site.
The tablet's 10-inch display uses the MiraVision technology of MediaTek, which allows it to produce more colors and achieve better contrast. It also features Zero Air Gap technology for creating brighter images and for enhancing visibility when the tablet is used in a sunlit environment.
The MediaMaster button allows the tablet to automatically select the best available setting, which remains true whether the user is listening to music, watching a video or playing his favorite game.
The Reading Mode is perfect for long periods of using the tablet which works by reducing the level of its eye-strain-causing blue light. It's also designed with a special coating mechanism that not only makes the tablet easy to clean but also protects it effectively from smudges.
"The screen's super-tough Corning Gorilla Glass 4 is very resistant to cracking and scratches. Special materials and mechanical design features make the tablet more durable. The grip-friendly texturing on the casing enhances durability by making it harder to drop the tablet."
The new Acer Iconia Tab 10 is powered by a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT8163 chip running at 1.5 GHz and comes equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage which can be easily expanded up to 128 GB through a microSD slot.
Other interesting features include a 5 MP rear camera, 2 MP front camera, a Precision Plus touchscreen for sketching enthusiasts, NFC, Wi-Fi, a micro USB port with SlimPort technology and a pre-installed Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Acer is launching the Iconia Tab 10 in June to UK consumers at a price that's estimated to be around £180 (roughly $260). There is no information yet on the tablet's availability in other markets.
