Lenovo is rumored to launch its latest flagship handset, Vibe P1 Turbo, very soon in India. The company has already launched the product in China in February this year.
While it's not a top player in the smartphone market, Lenovo holds its own, especially in two of its largest markets: China and India. So, it's hardly surprising that the phone maker would want to roll out its latest product in the Indian market at the earliest.
While we hear no official statement from the horse's mouth yet, Mumbai-based Mahesh Telecom confirms the news that the Vibe P1 Turbo is poised to enter the Indian stores, priced at Rs17,999 (about $270), and packs quite a decent set of specifications.
The most notable feature of this Lenovo handset would be its huge 5,000 mAh battery, which provides a good 45 hours' worth talktime and keeps it alive for 30 days on standby mode, as claimed by the makers. The battery supports Quick Charging, and doubles up as a power bank for other devices through USB OTG.
Sporting a 5.5-inch Full HD display that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the device runs on a 1.5GHz Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit chipset coupled with 2 GB RAM. The 32 GB internal storage can be further expanded via a memory card slot, while connectivity can be availed via 4G LTE support, dual SIM slots, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. The device has a 16-megapixel tri-color-flash rear camera, while for selfies and Skype calls, there's a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The handset even flaunts a fingerprint scanner at the back.
With Vibe P1 Turbo, Lenovo will enter yet another entry-level smartphone in India that will be pitted directly against the likes of Oppo R7 Plus, Gionee Marathon series and Asus Zenfone Max – all of which flaunt powerful batteries.
