BlackBerry launches the first Android Marshmallow beta update for Priv owners who are part of the private program it started earlier this month, promising T-Mobile subscribers who signed up to be next in line.
The news this time around comes from none other than the Beta Programs Manager of the company himself Nathan Webster, announcing the news via Twitter and spreading the word with #PRIVMarshmallowBeta.

BlackBerry started the program to collect valuable feedback from volunteers so that it can officially release Android Marshmallow across every Priv with little or no bugs at all. In a few hours' time, T-Mobile customers can also participate in the whole shindig.
A word to the wise, the update is expected to clock in north of 1.7 GB, so it's a good idea to charge up those smartphones and reserve a good amount of storage space for it.
It's also worth mentioning that the Priv is the phone maker's first ever Android model, sporting Android 5.1.1 Lollipop when it officially hit the shelves last year. Other notable specs of the handset include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808, 3 GB of RAM, microSD card of up to 2 TB worth of storage, a whopping 3,410 mAh battery pack and a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on top, to name a few.
In related news, a listing of the Priv turned up on Daily Steals with a price tag of $450. That's $200 off the new reduced price of the smartphone. Needless to say, that particular model isn't exactly a one-way ticket to get in on the Marshmallow action, but it should be noted that it's an unlocked AT&T variant, working perfectly well on T-Mobile.
