Jim Ross' Opinions About When The Undertaker Will Retire Might Surprise You

With every WrestleMania that passes by, the WWE Universe knows its days of seeing the Undertaker light up the squared circle are increasingly being numbered.

However, early into the promotion of his WrestleMania 32 Hell in a Cell match with Shane McMahon, the Dead Man vowed that the bout wouldn't be his last "Show of Shows."

Jim Ross more than believes him. While delivering the Ross Report podcast Wednesday, Good Ol' JR said he thinks the Undertaker — even at 51 years old with over 25 years of wear and tear on his body — could hang around longer than you think.

"I get this question every day on Twitter. No, I don't think the Undertaker is going to retire any time soon," Ross said.

About whether WrestleMania 33 or 34 would be the Phenom's final stand, Ross is unsure. However, whenever that day comes, it's likely to completely halt WWE and its legions of wrestling fans.

"I think that when he does retire, unless there is complete insanity [that] has engulfed the world of sports entertainment, that it will be the biggest news of the year, the last match for the Deadman," Ross continued. "And I think that last match for the Deadman will be at a WrestleMania. When that will happen, I don't know. [WrestleMania] 33? I don't know. [WrestleMania] 34? Who knows?"

One thing's for sure, if the Undertaker indeed decides to hang up his tights on the "Grandest Stage of Them All," he'll need a deserving opponent to push him, and WWE already has a suggestion for next year — John Cena.

We couldn't agree more. Along with Triple H, the Undertaker and Cena have been pillars of the company for years. There's nobody better than Cena against whom for the Undertaker to have his final WrestleMania bout and last career match in general.

If you're surprised about JR saying he doesn't think the Dead Man will be retiring any time soon, don't be. As it is, he's wrestling a couple of matches a year and was in great shape for the grueling Hell in a Cell match, which he won.

So, why not keep the wildest ride in sports entertainment going for a few more years?
