'Alien Isolation' has gone gold; here's a terrifying new trailer to celebrate

Fear the alien, for it does not fear you.

Sega's highly-anticipated Alien Isolation is ready for its closeup. Sega says that the game has gone gold, which is the industry-speak way of saying that the developers have finalized it and sent it off to be manufactured onto discs.

Alien Isolation also has a finalized release date. On October 7, 2014 it will be available to purchase for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows. You play as Ellen Ripley's daughter Amanda, who tries to escape a space station that's been invaded by a vicious Xenomorph who's out for blood (and guts and bones and all the rest).

Warning: this trailer is not for the squeamish. But if you were squeamish, you wouldn't be reading this anyway, am I right?
