Great news for all Homefront fans. The game's sequel, Homefront: The Revolution, is now available for digital preorder and pre-download on Xbox One.
This comes nearly one month ahead of its scheduled May 17 release throughout the U.S. and May 20 across Europe. The game, however, will not be playable until 12:01 a.m. EST on the day of the original release.
Homefront: The Revolution is an open-world, first-person shooter game that is a sequel to Homefront. The game was developed by Dambuster and published by Deep Silver Studios. It is set in 2029, two years after the events in Homefront unfolded and four years after the Greater Korean Republic (GKR) invaded the United States.
Following the Battle of San Francisco, Americans have taken back control of the western states, including Hawaii and Alaska. This lost prompted GKR to focus their efforts in invading more eastern states and set up their central command post in Philadelphia.
The oppressive state in the "New Philadelphia" has stirred a second rebellion led by Parrish and Ethan "Birdy" Brady, who is the youngest member of the resistance. Homefront: The Revolution follows the story of Ethan and the new resistance as they attempt to reclaim Philadelphia.
A new feature of Homefront: The Revolution is the addition of two to four players, a cooperative multiplayer mode. The original Homefront game only offered competitive multiplayer mode in addition to the single player campaign.
Homefront: The Revolution has also opened additional districts for players to explore and loot from, which can provide resources to build and improve weapons and other equipment. The game offers side missions that give players the option to carry out tasks that bring them additional bonuses and loot, while fleshing out the backstory.
There are two bundles of Homefront: The Revolution available for preorder - the Preorder Bundle and the Freedom Fighter Bundle.
The Preorder Bundle, which costs $59.99, includes the Revolutionary Spirit Pack and the Liberty Pack.
The Revolutionary Spirit Pack includes cosmetic skins such as the Red Skull motorbike skin the Golden Pistol skin. It also unlocks the Marksman Rifle, Sniper Scope and Remote Explosives for your Co-Op. The Liberty Pack includes the KPA Shock Trooper helmet and Liberty Body Armor.
The Freedom Fighter Bundle, which costs $79.99, includes everything from the Preorder Bundle plus the season pass to major single player expansions and valuable bonuses for Co-Op experience.
Homefront: The Revolution is also available for preorder on PS4 and PC.
