The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is one step closer to becoming a reality. A leaked listing reveals the phablet is codenamed "Grace," already with official model numbers for specific carriers and regions.
Sales of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are reportedly higher than those of last year's Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, and part of the reason can be traced to the return of two important features that were omitted from the previous flagship smartphones.
Samsung didn't win any fans when it took a page out of Apple's playbook by launching the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge with no expandable memory slots; something the company previously and routinely highlighted as one of the features that set itself apart from Apple. The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge also didn't inherit the waterproof case design that made its debut on 2014's flagship Galaxy S5.
Luckily, Samsung listened to its critics and once again brought microSD expansion and IP68 certified waterproof resistance back to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. While the company is enjoying the success of its latest flagship smartphones, it's also preparing to launch its highly anticipated Galaxy Note 6 this summer.
In February, Tech Times reported some of the rumored specs Samsung is said to include in the Galaxy Note 6, and one of those is a whopping 6 GB of RAM. Recent reports have also claimed the device will sport a waterproof case and iris scanner for enhanced security, and have a possible June release.
Now, a leaked list sheds light on some additional details regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note 6, which has apparently been given the code name "Grace." Model numbers for specific carriers and regions have also been revealed in the listing.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 carries a model number of SM-N930, and the published listing shows Samsung has simplified the U.S. versions of the phablet by using the same model number for all U.S. carriers. This will reportedly allow Samsung to release software updates much quicker than it has in the past. Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular will all use the same SM-N930U model.
