Amazon India launched a "Subscribe and Save" option, improving the palette of shopping options for online shoppers.
The Subscribe and Save allows buyers to get their daily household essentials in a subscription program which features with monthly automatic delivery. Additional goodies are that the program comes with free shipping for standard waiting times and the possibility to save as much as 10 percent of the overall value of the order, in special conditions.
The service is available to users on both desktop systems and mobile devices from all areas of India.
Over 2,500 products are part of the program, and you can check out the full list at the official Subscribe and Save page. A huge array of products can be purchased via the S&S page, such as automotive, baby, beauty, diet and nutrition, fitness, grocery, health care, household supplies, personal care, pets, printer accessories, sports and stationery.
Earlier in 2016, Amazon unveiled another new program. India got access to Amazon Now, a service which offers home deliveries of household items in a two-hour window in Bengaluru.
According to the FAQ from the page of Amazon India, users are able to choose between one to six month intervals for their respective order.
To get a 10 percent discount, clients have to select a minimum of three subscriptions on a monthly basis. The only payment method that is accepted at the moment for the Subscribe&Save subscriptions is cash on delivery.
Extra flexibility is provided, as online shoppers may skip or even cancel the upcoming subscription from the Subscribe and Save store.
After you complete your first subscription, Amazon places your order in the free standard shipping category. What is more, the delivery date is set as default for orders that you place in the future. Users get the option to manually customize the delivery date, however.
A one-time delivery basis also allows Amazon India customers to order an item sooner than their standard delivery day.
We can speculate that the daily goods will reach customers via human couriers, but we do know that Amazon is looking into making drone-based home deliveries. Amazon Prime Air could revolutionize how we see short distance deliveries, but technical and regulatory difficulties need to be tackled first.
