When it comes to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we've heard quite a lot on how great the script is, but this is the first time Ben Affleck has ever touched on the subject in an interview. It gives us great peace of mind to know that Affleck finds the script pleasing, but it isn't enough to fully get us on board.
Ben Affleck is doing promotional interviews with The New York Times about his upcoming film, "Gone Girl," but we all could guess from the whole thing that the Times was more interested in getting straight to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice than anything else.
According to Affleck when asked about the Warner Bros. film, the script "is really unique to the genre and really smart." We're not quite sure what he's on about here, but Jesse Eisenberg, the actor who will play Lex Luthor, had similar things to say about the script.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice having a great script is not surprising.
The man who has come on board to help with the script is no other than Chris Terrio, the same man who scripted the award winning film, Argo. Warner Bros. hired Terrio back in 2013 to the delight of fans, as at the time it appeared as if no one had any faith in David Goyer. It would seem Warner had similar sentiments, which could be the reason for the hiring of Terrio.
Since the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy, we haven't seen a comic book movie that is gripping and worthy of praise for the next decade or more. The Disney/Marvel movies are great, but to be honest here, the story element of these films are not good enough to stand toe-toe with the Nolan trilogy.
We hope Warner/DC return to winning ways and bring back what is missing from comic-book movies. Man of Steel had potential, but it did not deliver; now all eyes are set squarely on Dawn of Justice.
The film is set to release come March 25, 2016. Several DC films are expected to come after, and these include the likes of Shazam, Justice League, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and a possible Aquaman film.
