We've already seen what happens when Predators are pitted against Aliens. Add Judge Dredd to the mix? Be ready for one hell of a ride.
During their Emerald City Comicon panel, Dark Horse Comics announced "Predators vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens," a crossover featuring three of the most feared figures in the universe. Set to be released in summer, it will feature writing by John Layman ("Mars Attacks: Occupation," "Chew") artwork from Chris Mooneyham ("Predator: Fire and Stone," "Five Ghosts") and covers from Glenn Fabry ("Hellblazer," "Preacher").
According the Eisner Award-winning and New York Times best-selling author, "Predator vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens" is the type of concept that his teenage self would be highly excited to just read about. And given the opportunity to write it many years later, he still finds it very thrilling.
Layman has worked on Aliens before and found the experience to be "super cool," one that has always been on his creative bucket list. As such, working on "Predators vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens" is a dream come true for him.
"It's a trifecta of awesome. I'm living every minute of this project so far," he said.
The "Predators vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens" story starts out with a Predator crashlanding in the middle of the jungle in Cursed Earth and being pursued by man-animal hybrids created by a crazy genetic engineer. Unfortunately, the evil genius got his hands on the one of the Predator's hunting trophies, a Xenomorph skull (hello, Alien DNA!) while tracking down the crashlanded creature. Judge Dredd and Anderson enter the fray hot on the tails of a criminal cult, "then shit gets nuts!" (Layman's words, not mine.)
"Predator vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens" #1 (of 4) hits stores July 27. Preorders are now ongoing at local comic shops.
