The CW released a new 90-second trailer for the upcoming third season of “Arrow” on Thursday, September 4.
The science-fiction drama, based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, debuted on The CW in 2012. And, since then, the series has developed a cult following. “Arrow” had a strong presence at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, and was even one of the shows featured on the coveted, grossly-oversized attendee bags at the event.
The first footage from the show’s anticipated third season was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, but in the newly released trailer, fans finally get to see Brandon Routh (Superman from the 2006 film “Superman Returns") as Ray Palmer. The clip also teases a budding romance between the show’s main protagonist, Oliver Queen (played by Stephen Amell) and his tech-specialist assistant, Felicity (played by Emily Bett Rickards). The two are shown making time, in the middle of a high-speed chase, to schedule a dinner date.
The show’s upcoming season will also include a two-hour "crossover event" with another CW series, “The Flash.”
Season 3 of “Arrow” begins Wednesday, October 8 on The CW.
