Texas-based Stream, the energy service provider, announced on April 7 that it has launched a new branch of its Home Services line. Stream Digital Voice, as it's called, will allow individuals to bridge the gap between their home phone lines and their mobile lines with new equipment packages.
The Stream Digital Voice packages begin at $99.99. To start, Stream says that all users need is a high-speed Internet connection and a regular home phone. Once users register for a Stream Digital Voice package, they may select a new phone number or transfer an existing number to begin making calls.
With features such as three-way conference calling and voicemail-to-email, Stream is marketed toward business professionals as much as everyday consumers.
"At Stream we listen carefully to the wants and needs of our customers, as they are our number one priority," said Larry Mondry, president and CEO of Stream. "We feel strongly that our new Home Services line, which includes Stream Digital Voice, will help our customers stay connected to their homes, wherever they are. Our newest service offering is a continuation of our company's progression toward becoming a full-service provider of essential services."
Each of the three packages users can choose from comes with the Digital Voice HUB, an Internet phone adapter. Depending on the selected package, individuals may also choose to use the Digital Voice AIR or Digital Voice Bridge with the HUB. The AIR is a wireless and Bluetooth adapter, while the Bridge is a remote phone jack that can wirelessly connect up to four devices through the HUB.
International calling is also an option through the Stream Digital Voice services. Individuals can either choose to "pay as they go" with a prepaid account, or subscribe to an unlimited service that reduces cost-per-minute.
Stream Digital Voice was revealed at Ignition 2016, which was held in Dallas, Texas. More than 3,000 attendees were at the event, geared toward bringing together some of the country's most prominent business leaders. Stream CEO Larry Mondry gave a keynote speech at the event.
Stream, also known as Stream Energy, was initially founded in 2005. It has generated $7 billion in total revenue over the past 10 years.
