Huawei Unveils The 'Ultimate Smartband:' Meet The Sleek TalkBand B3 Smartwatch/ Fitness Tracker Hybrid

There's a new high-tech wearable in town, and Huawei says it's the "ultimate smartband" – enter the stylish TalkBand B3.

Combining the best features of a smartwatch and a fitness tracker, the sleek TalkBand B3 from Huawei aims to offer the best of both worlds.

Huawei introduced its smartband at the same London event where it unveiled the highly anticipated P9, which is probably why the wearable went somewhat under the radar. Nevertheless, the TalkBand B3 has plenty to offer, and it comes in three different models to suit more tastes and preferences.

Just like previous TalkBand models, the new iteration looks more like a bracelet than a smartwatch, but that's not a bad thing. The gadget has a "3D" curved glass display with Gorilla Glass protection for extra scratch-resistance, and its PMOLED panel has a resolution of 128 x 80. That's quite modest, but it's enough to display relevant data such as notifications, messages or the time.

The TalkBand B3 is compatible with both Android and iOS and offers various fitness-oriented functions, such as tracking calories, counting steps, monitoring sleep patterns and others such. What makes it stand out, however, is the fact that this smartband also supports calling from your wrist, thanks to its built-in microphone. It also stores contacts right into its speed-dial phonebook.

"Huawei's TalkBand B3 is the next generation of wearable devices. The state-of-the-art design keeps you connected in style-any time, any place," touts Huawei. "Smart technology that gets you noticed. And moves you faster. The future never looked so good."

The device comes with a 91 mAh battery, which should last for up to four days on a single charge or up to six hours of talk time, according to Huawei. IP57 rating, meanwhile, ensures the gadget can withstand heavy sweat from those intensive workout sessions.

Compared to its predecessor, the TalkBand B3 sports a more ergonomic fit, better audio, and a sleeker design overall. The gadget should also have a better chip than the previous model, but Huawei has yet to detail the exact specs.

Lastly, the Huawei TalkBand B3 comes in three different models – Active, Classic and Elite – each with its own distinct wristband.

Huawei is yet to announce availability or release dates, but should offer more information shortly.
