Allison Williams is Peter Pan in NBC's upcoming Peter Pan Live series: First look of Williams as Pan

NBC has cast Allison Williams as Peter Pan, but we didn't get the chance to see her in character until now. The first image of Williams as Pan has been released, and we must admit, she looks believable in the still image.

This isn't the first time a female was used to play the role of a male, and it will not be the last. It will be interesting to see how fans react and if she is truly capable of making viewers believe she is indeed Peter Pan, because at first they will no doubt see the character as a woman.

An NBC Today report shows that Allison Williams had offered to cut her hair for the role, but it appears she won't have to go that far. Furthermore, this is a breakthrough role for Williams, because since the age 3, she had wished that one day she could play Peter Pan, and now it is happening.

"I sort of very tentatively offered to cut my hair, I was like, 'You know, if it's a thing that would help I could cut my hair,' and they were like, 'You're welcome to do that, we're still gonna put you in a wig," says Williams in an interview with NBC Today.

For those who have been living under a huge rock, the show is called Peter Pan Live, and it is actually a live theatrical performance that will be aired on NBC. It is not a TV show similar to the likes of Once Upon a Time. By the way, the actor who played Peter Pan in that TV show is the one and only Robbie Kay.

Since NBC is doing a live version of Peter Pan, we're guessing that if it turns out to be a success, the network could look into creating a full-fledged TV show; wouldn't that be something? Sure would.

The first performance of "Peter Pan Live" will be aired on Dec. 6, 2014. Furthermore, interested folks can take a look at Williams practicing the art of flight via her Instagram page. It gives a good representation of what to expect of her when she takes to the skies come this December.
