Just because Bret Hart and Ric Flair are well past their respective glory days of being ring rulers, doesn't mean that one Hall of Famer can't call the other out.
That's exactly what The Hitman did during the latest episode of The Sharpshooter Show with Bret "The Hitman" Hart.
"I kinda feel like throwing down right now and calling Flair out," Hart said, as reported by WrestleZone.com. "Me and Ric could have a wheelchair match. First one to tip the other one over in a wheelchair. My luck, Ric would probably tip mine over."
While that was said in jest, Hart and Flair could at least watch a feud transpire between members of their legendary wrestling families, nonetheless. During this past Monday Night Raw, The Nature Boy's daughter, Charlotte, was honored with the first official WWE Women's Championship title during an in-ring ceremony with the roster of Divas behind her.
One of them was Natalya, the daughter of Bret's former Hart Foundation partner, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart. With Charlotte gloating like her two-time Hall of Famer dad, Natalya thought it would be the opportune time to teach the champ about a little humility — something Bret used to do as well, humbling a host of WWE Superstars with his sound brand of Excellence of Execution.
Though the confrontation started with back-and-forth banter, Natalya took exception to the champ saying her family will always be better than the Harts. Immediately, Natalya dropped Charlotte to the mat and locked in the Sharpshooter — the same finisher that her famous uncle used for years.
So, if this escalates into a full-on feud between the two and The Nature Boy is going to be a fixture ringside for Charlotte, maybe Bret can be by Natalya's side to even the odds and spice things up a bit. After all, Bret and Ric are two of the most iconic Superstars sports entertainment has ever seen. The WWE Universe would love to see them on the outside of the ring ... and maybe even mix it up every now and then.
As part of the recent episode of his podcast, Hart also spoke about the seven-man Ladder match at WrestleMania 32 ... and let's just say, he wasn't impressed.
"It's just a prop match. That's all it was. Just a bunch of stupid spots with the ladders where people are hitting each other and doing stupid stuff with the spots," Hart said about the match that had Zack Ryder win the Intercontinental title, only to lose it to The Miz the next night on Raw. "I know there's a lot of hard bumps in there. I never thought any of it made any sense. There were times when guys were walking up the ladder, climbing up the ladder, like at a snail's pace waiting for someone to come pull them down. Then of course when Zack Ryder won it he just whips up the ladder like it's nothing. I was really disappointed with the whole thing."
Wow. Tell them how you really feel, Hitman!
