In a blog post by Google executive chairman and former CEO Eric Schmidt, the company announced on Tuesday that "Google Enterprise" has been rebranded as "Google For Work."
All products previously using the Google Enterprise brand will now have Google for Work added to the end of their names.
"We never set out to create a traditional 'enterprise' business-- we wanted to create a new way of doing work," writes Schmidt. "So the time has come for our name to catch up with our ambition."
Google For Work President Amit Singh emphasized that the name change is just the start of new products and features for the the successful business division. The investment in this division has also led the team to grow from only 25 members to a number somewhere in the "thousands."
Recent statistics released by Google show that 60 percent of Fortune 500 companies are paying for Google for Work services to run their businesses, including an overall total of over 5 million businesses. Chromebooks have also slowly begun the integration process with more than 1 million sold in the second quarter of 2014 alone.
