'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 2: Now the team must work in shadow

Coulson and his (now rogue) "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." are back for Season 2. Marvel's first TV series was fairly good when it started but became must-see-TV kind of good by the end of its first season. Now it's ready to kick into high gear.

ABC has shown off the first trailer for the new season, and while it's short, it packs a punch. We won't spill the beans if you're not caught up from last year, but suffice it to say that the team is going through some major changes, becoming even more covert than they already were.

"This is a make-or-break moment," says Coulson as the ad begins. "The enemy has the advantage, but we have to fight on for those we've lost. So the sacrifices they made were not made in vain. And then, we'll disappear, become ghosts."

While Coulson continues to speak, you'll see quick cuts of footage from the new season and a few bits from the last. All of the team's familiar faces are there, though some of them have changed (nice beard, Ward), but we didn't see any glimpses of the show's much-discussed new additions or guest stars, such as Lucy Lawless or Adrianne Palicki.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." begins its new mission statement when it returns to ABC on September 23, 2014, moving to its new time slot at 9:00 PM.
