The second DLC map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops III is coming in April for PlayStation 4 owners, and includes more zombie action as well as four new multiplayer maps to enjoy.
Called Eclipse, the map pack includes new maps Spire, Rift, Knockout and Verge, with Verge being a remake of an older Treyarch map with which fans may be familiar. You can read details about each map below:
Spire takes players to a futuristic airport high above the clouds, where one wrong step could mean plummeting to your death. Treyarch says to expect intense mid-range combat.
Rift, on the other hand, is set at a high-tech military compound, where players will be funneled into close quarter encounters with enemies.
Knockout, in a departure from the usual Black Ops III fare, will transport combatants to a Shaolin temple with some 1970s flair. Outside players will experience mid-range battles, while inside the actual temple, the fight will be up close and personal.
Last but not least is Verge, which is actually a reimagining of the Call of Duty: World at War map Banzai. The map will now take players to the future, where two warring factions battle for control of key bridges and tunnels in the medium-sized map.
Of course, it wouldn't be a Call of Duty DLC pack without new zombies content for players to enjoy, and Eclipse will deliver there as well. The DLC pack will include a new chapter in the story of characters from Black Ops II's Origin and Black Ops III's the Giant maps, who will find themselves on the Pacific island of Zetsubou No Shima investigating a secret, and no doubt deadly, lab.
Eclipse arrives for Call of Duty: Black Ops III players on PlayStation 4 April 19, with the content coming to Xbox One and PC gamers at a later date. The map pack is available as part of the game's season pass or as a standalone purchase. According to the latest rumors, the next entry in the long-running shooter franchise may take players to space.
