Boldly Go Anywhere With MAC Cosmetics Recently Announced 'Star Trek' Beauty Collection

Beginning August 25, MAC Cosmetics has a new mission for everyone and it is to boldly go where no man has gone before and go there looking fabulous with the new MAC and "Star Trek" themed, 25-piece cosmetics line. The newest collaboration is in celebration of the women of "Star Trek" on its 50th anniversary.

The "Star Trek" collection will be available for purchase online from August 25 and in physical stores on September 1. However, attendees of the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) on July 21 will have the privilege of getting their hands on it first during an exclusive, one-day only pre-sale at the MAC Cosmetics Store in the Gaslamp District.

"[We] celebrate each of Star Trek's powerful women in a transcending, transformational makeup collection," James Gager, MAC's creative director, said in a statement.

If you're wondering just who these powerful women are, just think Deanna Troi, Seven of Nine, Uhura and Vina the Orion Girl. Of course it is not just these four but they were MAC's main muses when it came to developing the new line. Just take a look at the short promo from MAC below.

"Spanning half a century, Star Trek and its loyal fans cross generations, influencing ideas and aesthetics of gender, race and intergalactic potential. As the sci-fi saga continues, M·A·C and Star Trek's latest cinema generation join forces in an exclusive makeup collaboration of cosmically charged hues. Available in September, in select markets!" MAC announced on its Facebook page.

Is anyone really surprised that "Star Trek" is also shaking things up in the cosmetics industry? It has, after all, made waves with iconic and jaw-dropping Star Trek fashion for the past half century.

Perhaps Trekkies can attend the SDCC to purchase their MAC and "Star Trek" collaboration cosmetics and wear them when they watch the premiere of "Star Trek Beyond," which gets released on July 22.
