Devon Still, National Football League (NFL) player, posted a touching tribute to his 5-year-old daughter Leah Still, to mark the one year anniversary of her cancer remission.
In celebration of this milestone, Devon Still posted his heart rendering tribute on Instagram.
"I want to wish a Happy (2nd) Birthday to my baby, Leah. Today, March 25th, marks a year of her being in remission! A day she was given a second chance at life. There's not enough hours in a day, days in a month, or months in a year to tell you how much I love you and how proud of you I am. Keep fighting and keep inspiring!" read the heartfelt online message from father to daughter.
In June 2014, sadly, Leah was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma and was given a 50-50 chance of survival.
Her doting father, Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still, documented his daughter's fight with cancer across social media that received rave attention. Numerous fans and followers expressed their support.
In July 2015, Devon and Leah were both honored with the Jimmy V Perseverance Award at the 2015 ESPY Awards. The award was presented by LeBron James in recognition of their courageous battle with cancer.
Devon Still accepted the award on behalf of his daughter who couldn't be present at the ceremony due to her ongoing treatment. Today, Leah Still has been in remission for one full year.
What is even more inspiring is that Leah and the Cincinnati Bengals had even helped raise over $1 million through a fundraiser. They raised the money by selling Devon Still jerseys. They had sold nearly 10,000 jerseys and the proceeds from the sale went to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center towards pediatric cancer research.
