Here's A Very Good Reason To Get Apple's 29W USB-C To Lightning Cable For Your iPad Pro

A newly report has surface laying out a good reason to nab Apple's USB-C to Lightning Cable and 29W power adapter.

9to5Mac has published a report claiming that iPad Pro 12.9 charges way faster with this new cable combo as opposed to using the 12W power adapter that shipped with the tablet.

The latest event of Apple earlier this month showed off not only its much-awaited 4-inch iPhone SE but also a slew of accessories, which include the USB-C to Lightning Cable plus the 29W USB-C power adapter.

9to5Mac has reviewed this new combo and reports that the combination of these two peripherals is "an adequate solution" for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

"[T]his test is by no means scientific, but it's super-obvious that this new charging solution is much better for the [12.9-inch] iPad Pro," it says. "The difference is night and day."

It reveals that the charger included in the iPad Pro 12.9 package managed to make 5 percent in 20 minutes while the 29W adapter charged the slate 14 percent in 20 minutes, implying that this is way faster than the former.

The test was carried out on both chargers with airplane mode switched on and the screen brightness on max level for 10 minutes then on minimum brightness level for the other 10 minutes.

It underscores that the test it conducted "is not a scientific test in a controlled environment." However, it also notes that it does not require such a test to prove that the combination of USB-C to Lightning Cable along with the USB-C power adapter is indeed perfect for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

It even goes as far as saying that shipping this tablet with the 12W charger had been a "mistake," resulting in not-so-good user experience.

The report even includes a video of the test to prove its claims. Hit the play button below if you wish to watch the review video.

Meanwhile, for those who are asking why this 29W adapter was not packed with this $800-tablet, GSMArena says that "Apple would not have been able to charge you another $75 for a faster charger."

The Apple 29W USB-C power adapter costs $49 while the USB-C to Lightning Cable is priced at $25.
