New iPhone SE Beats iPhone 6s In Battery Performance: Stats

There's one trick that Apple's newest, smaller iPhone has over its bigger, beefier brother.

In this case, we're talking about the iPhone SE's battery life versus that of the iPhone 6S (and, in some ways, the iPhone 6S Plus).

At its "Let Us Loop You In" event early this week, Apple introduced the iPhone SE by capitalizing on its smaller physical dimensions yet comparable internal specs that are nearly equivalent to that of the iPhone 6S.

It made no mention of its battery life, however. The Cupertino company doesn't divulge much details regarding the battery capacities of its iOS devices, anyway.

However, just like late last year when users discovered that the iPhone 6S was surprisingly water-resistant (not waterproof, though), we've come to find that the iPhone SE actually outdoes the battery of the company's flagships.

The facts are even listed on Apple's website comparing the features of its various handsets: the iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6 and iPhone SE.

It's in the categories of Internet use and HD video playback that the iPhone SE shines.

On 3G, the iPhone SE outperforms the iPhone 6S by an extra two hours at 12 hours total (which is the same as the iPhone 6S Plus).

On LTE and Wi-Fi, the iPhone SE actually outdoes both the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus. Lasting up to 13 hours on LTE, the smaller iPhone can manage to get an extra three hours more than the iPhone 6S and one extra hour more than the iPhone 6S Plus. On Wi-Fi, it's nearly the same story — the iPhone SE also lasts 13 hours, which is two hours longer than the iPhone 6S and an extra hour longer than the iPhone 6S Plus.

In terms of video playback, the iPhone SE can last up to 13 hours without charge. That's an extra three hours longer than the iPhone 6S and just one hour less than the iPhone 6S Plus.

Of course, the iPhone SE's smaller four-inch display and lower resolution are the biggest factors allowing for the device's longer battery life, but it is impressive nonetheless. With gains of as much as 30 percent more battery life compared to its bigger brothers, the iPhone SE can sure pack a big punch in such a small frame.
