Apple only just announced the iPhone SE, and yet, the device has already been spotted on AnTuTu, where it was revealed the handset comes packed with 2 GB of RAM.
Apple will officially release the iPhone SE in the coming week.
The four-inch handset is almost identical to the iPhone 6s as far as specs are concerned. On top of having the same size RAM, as revealed by AnTuTu, the handset's overall score of 134,358 is almost the same as that of the iPhone 6s.
For comparison's sake, AnTuTu's score for the Samsung Galaxy S7 is at 125,288, which can vary to reach around 105,000, depending on the handset's processor version.
"iPhone SE is an exciting new idea — we started with a beloved, iconic design and reinvented it from the inside out," said Apple's Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller. "The result is the most beautiful and powerful phone with a four-inch display in the world."
Apple touts the iPhone SE handset as one that is packed with an impressive four-inch Retina display. According to AnTuTu and Apple's own comparison page for iPhone models, the handset's pixel resolution is at 1136 by 640.
Other notable specs include an advanced 64-bit A9 chip that comes with an M9 motion coprocessor, 4K video, Live Photos, faster Wi-Fi and LTE, Touch ID with Apple Pay, 12 MP iSight camera with True Tone flash and longer battery life.
Apple said that the iPhone SE will be perfect for anyone who wants a smaller phone.
"Welcome to iPhone SE, the most powerful 4-inch phone ever," says Apple. "To create it, we started with a beloved design, then reinvented it from the inside out. The A9 is the same advanced chip used in iPhone 6s. The 12-megapixel camera captures incredible photos and 4K videos. And Live Photos bring your images to life. The result is an iPhone that looks small. But lives large."
Design-wise, the iPhone SE is built with bead-blasted aluminum that instantly gives the handset a satin-like look and feel. Apple also made sure that the handset will fit comfortably in one's hand. The device also boasts matte-chamfered edges along with a color-matched stainless steel logo to complete the iconic look.
The new Apple iPhone SE will be available in color options of Gold, Silver, Space Gray and Rose Gold metallic finishes. Starting at a retail price of $399, customers can choose between 16 GB and 64 GB models. Customers from locations such as the United States, the United Kingdom, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and nine more can start placing their orders on March 24 and expect the handset to become available beginning on March 31.
The $399 starting price for the iPhone SE is only for the United States, however. As Tech Times previously reported, other markets will see hefty premiums for the same device.
