Apple is now letting iOS developers generate up to 100 promo codes per application.
While Apple is yet to officially confirm the same, according to reports, developers are being assigned 100 promo codes per app instead of the 50 limit.
Promo codes are used by developers to distribute pre-release versions for review, as well as offering promotional giveaways.
"So its true. All iOS devs now get 100 promo codes to give out :D," says Tanmay, a developer, on Twitter.
"Apple now allow 100 promo codes per release of your app. Refresh your promo code count in Tokens," notes Tokens on Twitter.
Every time a developer releases a new app (or an update for the app) they can produce promotional codes which enable users to download the app prior to its release. Usually, these codes are provided to the press for reviews. However, when the codes are used up, developers are unable to generate or obtain new codes until the application is updated.
Previously, developers have complained that the 50 app download code limit was restrictive. Now with 100 codes at their disposal, developers will have more flexibility in sharing and promoting their apps to friends, family and press in the future.
Apple is yet to confirm the doubling of promo codes; however, developers are seeing the extra codes in iTunes Connect already.
