To all Superman nitpickers who always say that his non-disguise of donning a pair of glasses to make him unrecognizable when he walks around Metropolis as Clark Kent is ridiculous, you may now eat your words. "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” star Henry Cavill just proved that wearing spectacles (or going without) in a busy city is enough for the alien, Kal-El to blend in with mere mortals.
In his latest Instagram post, Cavill shows that even with his face plastered on almost everywhere, he manages to walk around one of the busiest places in the world - Times Square in New York - with not a shriek of recognition from people. And to think he was even wearing a Superman shirt underneath his open jacket!
“Dear Doubter, The glasses are good enough. Regards, Superman,” Cavill wrote in a caption to accompany the 15-second video he posted on Instagram.
While it's hard to believe that not one of the tourists and New Yorkers passing through Times Square even gave Cavill a second glance as he grinned and showed off the Superman logo on his shirt amid the billboards for the movie, he does indeed prove that Superman's alter ego, Clark Kent, certainly could be just another face in the crowd when he puts on his famed pair of glasses and writes for the Daily Planet.
Joining Cavill for “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will, of course, be Ben Affleck as the new Dark Knight, Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Jason Momoa as Aquaman. The team will join forces with other superheroes like The Flash and Cyborg against the evil Doomsday, who terrorizes Earth.
The film will open in theaters on March 25. Already fans are clamoring for any bit of information they can get out of the movie, which will run for more than two hours. But for the next few days, however, they will have to be content with an 11-minute fan-made cut of all the released official trailers for the movie.
