The new trailer for the hit Netflix comedy "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" has arrived. The clip shows various scenes from the soon to be released new season and it looks as if Kimmy and her friends are up to some brand new adventures that will tempt viewers to binge watch the show as soon as it becomes available.
Spring is just around the corner and in addition to the warmer weather, longer days and blooming buds that means there's something else to look forward to, as the new season of "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" finally hits our screens. The second series of the Emmy nominated comedy is on the way, and our hero is back, along with the whole gang from season one.
The trailer shows Kimmy, played by Ellie Kemper, continuing to expand her horizons after spending season one adjusting to modern life in New York City since escaping being buried in an underground bunker for 15 years by the notorious Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne, who was played in season one by guest star Jon Hamm. Whether Hamm will return at all in season 2 is unclear, but from the looks of the trailer, it seems as if Kimmy has now begun taking classes to receive her GED, while trying to make ends meet while working as an elf at a year round Christmas store.
While Kimmy doesn't appear to still be working for her old boss Jacqueline Voorhees, played by Jane Krakowski, it looks as if she's now in the ironic position of helping Jacqueline adjust to modern single life, as the trend obsessed socialite has gotten herself a boy toy. Meanwhile, Kimmy is still roommates with BFF Titus Andromedon, who, played by Tituss Burgess, was the breakout character from the first hit season of the show. Also back is Carol Kane as Lillian Kaushtupper, Kimmy and Titus' wacky landlady, who agrees to go through therapy with Titus to work out their differences.
It appears as though while Kimmy is adjusting to life beyond the bunker, at least one of her fellow "Mole Women" is having a harder time. The trailer also shows a clip of Kimmy catching former bunkmate Gretchen doing coke in a back alley with what Kimmy refers to as "a junkyard Elmo."
The clips are surely just a taste of what's to come in the new season, which consists of 13 brand new episodes, all of which will be released at once, Netflix style, on April 15. Check out the season 2 trailer for "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt."
