The Easter Bunny may want to stay clear of this giant chocolate egg that will be unveiled at Selfridges London, lest he risk being eaten by a voracious mother dragon. The 33-pound chocolate dragon egg will be part of a display in the UK department store to celebrate HBO's "Game of Thrones" returning for season six in April, and to herald season five being released on Blu-Ray and DVD this month.
The egg will be presented after a two hour assembly presentation where chocolatiers from Melt Chocolates will assemble the massive egg scale by scale from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 12.
The dragon egg will be just a little over 21 inches tall and made entirely by hand out of the most decadent chocolate even the mother of dragons herself would start watering at the mouth at. Certainly much tastier than raw horse heart!
Every part of the egg will be edible and it took Melt more than 25 hours to design and prepare to create the masterpiece in front of audiences for the Selfridges display window.
The Dragon egg will remain on display until 4 p.m. for the public "for the perfect selfie opportunity" with the very unique bespoke chocolate Easter egg.
Melt will also be creating boxes of mini dragon eggs made of milk chocolate which will be available for purchase for £19.99 or about $28.54. The three eggs will be covered in three different shimmery coatings unique from each other just like the three dragons of Daenerys Targaryen herself.
Those who are able to witness the creation and unveiling of Melt's "Game of Thrones" Chocolate Dragon Egg at Selfridges in person will also have a chance to win gift boxes.
In addition to this "Game of Thrones" egg event, Melt also has other super fresh chocolate eggs to celebrate Easter early. Each of Melt's egg is a work of art and it seems almost a shame to eat them.
