The Rock and Mankind combined to deliver the highest-rated segment in Monday Night Raw history back in September 1999, when the latter rolled out The Rock: This is Your Life! presentation for the Great One.
The hilarious segment had Mankind reuniting the Brahma Bull with figures of his past, including his home economics teacher, football coach and even high school sweetheart in a balloon-filled ring, before the Rock systematically dismantled each person before taking his frustration out on Mrs. Foley's baby boy himself.
That was just one of the memorable moments that the multi-tag team champions the Rock 'n' Sock Connection delivered in their short-lived time as a duo in WWE.
In Thursday's version of This Week in WWE History, March 3, 2016, the company looked back at the epic reformation of the team back on a March 1, 2004 edition of Raw.
Outnumbered by Evolution, a faction consisting of Ric Flair, Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton, Mick Foley desperately needed help.
"You're damn right I said Mick Foley was coming back to Raw!" Foley shouted into the microphone on the ramp, looking at Flair, Batista and Orton in the ring. "But I never said Mick Foley was coming back to Raw alone."
Within the blink of an eye after Foley's declaration, the Rock's theme song hit the PA system, and out came the Great One running down the ramp and into the ring, as he and Foley went to town on Evolution, clearing house of the stable — but not before the Rock dropped the "People's Elbow" on a fallen Orton. What a moment!
The electrifying scene would serve as a springboard to WWE setting up a Rock 'n' Sock Connection vs. Evolution handicap match at WrestleMania XX less than two weeks later before a raucous crowd at Madison Square Garden in New York City, bringing the company full-circle to the site of its inaugural WrestleMania in 1985.
Foley and the Rock played off each other so well, with Foley trying to go above and beyond to impress and even emulate his tag team partner, much to the Brahma Bull's chagrin. It was a memorable flashback moment, to say the least, with WWE using it to encourage fans to share their best odd couple teams by using the #WWEOddCouples hash tag.
