It looks like gamers and Star Wars fans aren't the only people who have opinions about Star Wars: Battlefront, the first- and third-person shooter game based on the popular intergalactic franchise. It turns out that John Boyega, who played Finn in the recent Force Awakens movie, has some opinions about Battlefront gameplay.
Boyega, who earned his sci-fi cred in the 2011 British alien invasion comedy in Attack the Block and as the voice behind Finn in the LEGO Force Awakens game, took to Twitter to advocate for an offline story mode for the video game, citing that it would be "more of an enjoyable way to learn controls."
@EAStarWars Will fans get a full on offline story mode? It's more of an enjoyable way to learn controls.

He even took to tweeting at the official Star Wars EA Games video account to make his case. EA's reply? "I am sure we can arrange something."

Fans of the game also had some opinions as to why the non-canonical franchise is designed the way it is — namely that not as many people are interested in multiplayer content right now — which Boyega responded to gracefully.
@thelastdisciple @EAStarWars ah that's understandable

Despite this, EA's response is certainly intriguing, but it might not really come to fruition. As the Mary Sue pointed out, "Battlefront's hesitation to tread on canon [might make it a] long shot [that] might be longer than we think," meaning that EA might not want to potentially upset a strong fan-base. Either way, it'll be interesting to see whether Boyega's input will end up making a huge difference for the next game in line. At least it can give us ... a new hope?
