The iPhone 6 is coming next month. A few weeks from now which means more photos will be leaked left and right. Almost every day, we see different parts of the next-generation iPhone surfacing.
Today, images of the rear shell and the front panel of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 are being shown off by a luxury iPhone modder and vendor Feld & Volk, feldvolk in Instagram.
Based on the images, the purported iPhone 6 will have rounded edges, a scratchless sapphire screen, and a flexible display. Other possible specs include a 1704 x 904 Retina display+ resolution, faster A8 processor, changeable lens, improved rear-facing camera, wireless charging support, heart rate sensor, reversible USB cable, and new Lightning cable. All these information are not yet official but they are likely to be true.
If the new Lightning cable is true, then this will be the first change since 2012 when the Lightning cable was first introduced with the iPhone 5.
The iPhone 6 is rumored to have a 13 megapixel camera, aluminum body, raised camera ring, smaller down volume buttons. The next-gen phone is also believed to have the same 1GB RAM as the iPhone 5S model.
The images recently leaked appear to be real. The smooth curved edges remind us of the early iPhone 3G but are a bit flattened. As for the thickness, there is information that it will only be 7mm.
While the photos are authentic-looking, some scratches are noticeable. The iPhone looks beat up perhaps because of frequent handling and testing.
Aside from the new Lightning cable, a new USB 3.0 cable that could support HD audio and has a floating center could be introduced as well. This could be an advantage for the earphones used by Apple on gadgets, meaning they could be upgraded and be connected through the lightning port according to a MacRumors report.
Note that last June, Apple introduced a new set of Lightning cable MFi specifications for the headphones and other devices. This could mean an enhanced pair of headphones for the iPhone 6 and other upcoming Apple products.
The iPhone 6 is expected to launch in Sept. 6 but there are talks of a Sept. 9 or 10 event. We'll see.
