Star Wars Battlefront's first piece of paid DLC will be arriving in March, and now, we might know who the new hero and villain to be included in the expansion will be.
As shown in a piece of concept art for the upcoming Outer Rim DLC on the Star Wars Battlefront forums, it appears that the bounty hunter Greedo and Lando's co-pilot (and later, Resistance fighter) Nien Nunb will be added to the game as the new villain and hero, respectively.
The image is of a new map taking place around Jabba's Palace on Tatooine, with Battlefront community manager Sledgehammer 70 telling fans to stay tuned for more details on additional maps, heroes, weapons, a level cap increase and more coming in the game's first expansion. You can check out the full piece of concept art toward the bottom of this post.
Greedo, of course, is the infamous bounty hunter that confronts Han Solo in the Mos Eisley cantina in the first Star Wars film, hoping to claim the bounty put on Solo's head by Jabba.
In that context, it makes perfect sense for him to be included in an expansion that features Jabba's palace. He's also at the center of the "who shot first debate."
The answer to that, as always, is Han.
Nien Nunb is by far a more bizarre choice for a hero. The character is a Rebel fighter who joins Lando as co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon in Return of the Jedi, and later appears in The Force Awakens as an X-Wing pilot.
Both of these characters are very, very minor, but that is perhaps to be expected, given that EA has stated Star Wars Battlefront won't be pulling any content from the prequels or new films. That gives DICE a pretty limited pool of characters to choose from for new heroes and villains.
It's worth noting that EA hasn't confirmed that the two characters are in fact the new hero and villain of the expansion, but it certainly looks that way. As some commenters have pointed out on the forums, players can already unlock skins that allow for players on the Rebels to play as both a Sullustan (Nien Nunb's race) and Rodian (Greedo's race).
The concept art could simply feature two generic soldiers from their given races, but judging how the Rodian in the image is wearing Greedo's exact outfit (and is firing at the Rebels), we think it's pretty safe to assume that the two characters will be joining the game soon.
