LG is about to release its new flagship smartphone, the LG G5 on Feb. 21 before the 2016 Mobile World Congress. With its unveiling just days away, information regarding the smartphone is continuing to trickle into the rumor mill.
The latest news about the smartphone is not a rumor though, as the information comes from LG itself.
According to a press release, LG has signed a partnership with B&O Play, which seeks to offer the company's customers with improved high-quality audio experiences.
B&O Play is a unit of internationally known audio-video company Bang & Olufsen, and according to the press release, the fruits of the partnership will already be seen in the LG G5.
LG said that it worked with B&O Play for the upcoming flagship smartphone to make sure that the LG G5 will be able to offer the best sound experience to its users. LG added that it will be the first company that will be offering B&O Play's Hi-Fi audio features.
"With LG's dedication to premium smartphones, the collaboration gives us the opportunity to bring B&O Play's acoustic excellence to an even broader customer base," says B&O Play president Henrik Taudorf Lorensen.
Lorensen added that the partnership with LG is a perfect match, as the profile of their customers necessitates the continuous release of nothing but the best devices into the market.
The collaboration with B&O Play has been a mutually beneficial one, according to LG Electronics Mobile president and CEO Juno Cho, with the executive stating that the company will seek to forge more partnerships with other leading companies in different industries to push forward innovations in its premium smartphones.
LG will be continuing its collaboration with B&O Play as well, though further details on future projects were not indicated in the press release. It would be a treat to see what else the partnership will come up with for the audio capabilities and features of LG's devices.
Other recent news regarding the LG G5 is a leaked image that seemed to confirm the Magic Slot hardware expansion port for the smartphone. The port will allow users to add hardware modules to the smartphone to expand its capabilities.
