Kanye West unabashedly took to Twitter over the weekend to ask Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to invest $1 billion into his ideas.
Notice a problem with that? He tweeted the request.
On Tuesday, Zuckerberg seemingly responded to West by "liking" Facebook user Steven Grimm's post, which was spotted by Complex and read: "Dear Kanye West: If you're going to ask the CEO of Facebook for a billion dollars, maybe don't do it on Twitter."
Ouch. Zuckerberg's 'like' seemingly co-signs the idea that West should have at the least made the bold request via Facebook and not Twitter.
This manifested over the weekend, when West first declared on Saturday that he's "$53 million in personal debt."
The rap mogul jumped back on the social media network the next day, this time asking Zuckerberg for the $1 billion.
And the reason that Zuckerberg would be compelled to write that kind of check?
West continued tweeting his case later in the day, saying: "Mark Zuckerberg I know it's your bday but can you please call me by 2mrw...You love hip hop, you love my art... I am your favorite artist but you watch me barely breathe and still play my album in your house ..."
He added in a series of subsequent tweets: "I don't have enough resources to create what I really can...Mark, I am publicly asking you for help...one of the coolest things you could ever do is to help me in my time of need and I will always respect you for that and the world will love you...I know I can make the world a better place...I have done the impossible...I retook the throne of rap...I beat the fashion game..."
While Zuckerberg hasn't responded more than that "like," as of Wednesday afternoon, Tech Times wonders if he would have at the least been more receptive to West's passionate pitch if it was posted on the billionaire's Facebook page instead of tweeted on Twitter.
