Stickers are not entirely new to the social media website. People have been placing stickers in their messages as they send them to their Facebook friends. These stickers would usually describe a user's current mood. Some of the available moods include happy, excited, and sad. Somehow, stickers have made message sending more fun and exciting.
However, sending stickers is available only in private messages and not in the comments. Sure, there are emojis that a user can add to his comment. While emojis can also be fun to use, they are limited in design and seemed to lack expression. Stickers, on the other hand, appear more vibrant and have more expressive options.
Now, Facebook is adding a sticker feature that will enable sending stickers in the comments. This means that apart from sending photos and emojis in the comments, users can now start sending stickers as well.
Some Facebook subscribers can now add stickers when they are posting comments on the social media site. This added feature will be available only to select users. The reason is that the company is still testing the new feature. If the test metrics appeared to be encouraging, Facebook will be able to roll it out to all of its users.
A Facebook spokesperson confirms on the social media's sticker feature. According to the spokesperson, the sticker feature is very simple to use. Users can add the stickers to comments similar to how they add stickers in messages.
"We are running a test which allows you to add a sticker to a comment on Facebook," said by the spokesperson. "Simply tap the sticker to add it to the comment, in the same way you would in Messenger."
The sticker button is found beside the camera button in the comment bar. If the user wants to add a sticker to his comment, all he has to do is to click on the sticker button. Upon clicking, the option would expand, displaying a number of default stickers. The user can even purchase sticker packs. To know if one's Facebook account has the sticker feature, simply check if the comment box has the sticker icon placed beside the familiar photo icon.
Last week, Facebook launched an updated version of its Windows Phone Messenger app which features an emoticon option. This allows the user to send emoticons coming from the updated version of the Facebook Messenger app. When the emoticon bar is expanded, the user can find an access to the Windows Phone Store where he can purchase more emoticon packs.
