Hasbro heard the fans clamoring for action figures of the “Star Wars” universe's best female heroes and they delivered! The toy company revealed its upcoming line of action figures in New York City at a Toy Fair International 2016 press event on Valentine's Day. Hasbro showcased a wide array of new action figures and showed that they are all love for the women of “Star Wars.”
The highlight of the Hasbro reveals a realistically sculpted Sabine Wren and “A New Hope” Princess Leia.
Other characters that were given the plastic action figure treatments were Seventh Sister Inquisitor, voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar, in “Star Wars Rebels” season 2, a teenage Leia who was also recently introduced to the show.
From “The Force Awakens,” Maz Kanata and Rey, who have been notably missing in many “Star Wars” playsets thus far, will be included in a three-pack set which will also include Finn and BB-8. This set will be the first to feature a toy of the old space pirate, Maz.
Other figures presented in Hasbro's showcase at the event were a Black Series 6-inch Darth Revan figure from Knights of The Old Republic, Kanan disguised as a Stormtrooper, a shirtless Darh Maul with removable hood – both 3.75" articulated action figures in the company's “Rebels” line.
No word yet on when Hasbro will be ready to unveil a much-anticipated toy line based on the upcoming “Rougue One” film, about the Rebel pilots who managed to stead the original plans for the Death Star. But many believe that toys for the film will be released soon as the movie is set to play in theaters in December.
Fans can also look forward to finally seeing Rey take her rightful place as a token in the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” Monopoly Board Game from which she was missing from in the game's first release.
