American Airlines Partners With Uber For More Seamless Traveling Experience

Order an Uber ride to the airport and board your flight.

After traveling and landing at the airport back home, have an Uber scoop you up at the terminal at the nearest designated pickup location.

American Airlines has announced a partnership with Uber to give customers this kind of seamless door-to-door traveling experience — one that's faster, smoother and packed with perks.

"We're excited to partner with the only global ride sharing service to offer customers exactly what they're asking for — a seamless travel experience, whether they're in the sky or on the ground," Scott Hinshaw, American Airlines' director of partner marketing, said in a press release statement. "By working together, we can provide a service that allows customers to request their Uber ride to the airport in step with their itinerary and know where to meet their Uber driver after their flight lands."

So, now, American Airlines customers can set a reminder for an Uber ride the moment they purchase their flight ticket.

American's app has even made it a point to improve airport navigation, guiding customers to the nearest Uber pickup locations at 11 airports across the country, including prominent ones such as Los Angeles International (LAX), Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW), Chicago's O'Hare International (ORD) and both of New York's airports in John F. Kennedy International (JFK) and LaGuardia (LGA).

To spark the growth of this partnership, American customers who are currently not signed up for Uber can receive up to $20 off their next ride when registering and using the promo code RideAA.

In addition, customers using their AAdvantage Aviator MasterCard to book their Uber rides will earn two additional bonus miles for every $1 spent on the ride-hailing app from Feb. 7 through July 31.
