This update to EA Sports' NHL 16 will likely have gamers wanting to drop the puck as soon as possible.
On Thursday, the video game developer announced an added dangler class to EA Sports Hockey League (Eashl), giving players yet another position to try out online. While the exact details of what the dangler will introduce to the game's online experience is currently unknown, gamers will certainly hope it increases their flexibility while playing the hockey title.
The dangler class bolstering the online experience for NHL 16 is just part of the enhancements that EA's update is offering here.
As part of the developer's announcement Thursday, the title will also see a plethora of gameplay improvements, including everything from an increased attribute to create more player separation and the ability to further separate weaker goalies from the best ones.
Goalies will also have ability to save slower low shots and passes toward the net, while EA has increased referee strictness when teams were already shorthanded to enforce that penalties no longer go uncalled.
In addition, one of the gameplay updates has removed the ability to protect the puck in resistance to being hit — either with protecting the puck or by keeping the pucking away from your opponent. That being said, EA has still maintained users' ability to be in a controlled glide with full balance, while limiting the speed of a hit.
The gameplay update even addresses the issue where players would sometimes stay behind in the penalty box for the duration of games, even after their penalty time had run out, and the glitch that had players lining up incorrectly when using aggressive faceoff style during an offensive zone faceoff.
The presentation of some teams change with the update, too, as EA added 2015-16 Winter Classic jerseys for franchises such as the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens and Stadium Series jerseys for the likes of the Chicago Blackhawks, Minnesota Wild, Colorado Avalanche and Detroit Red Wings.
EA even added third jerseys for the San Antonio Rampage, Charlottetown Islanders, Rouyn-Noranda Huskies and Hamilton Bulldogs.
