Just as Ryse did, and Sunset Overdrive maybe should have done, Quantum Break is coming to PC. And on top of that, PC players can even get the game for free through Microsoft.
The PC port of Quantum Break, previously an Xbox One exclusive, was tipped by Brazil's ratings advisory board late last month. And now Microsoft has confirmed it.
The sci-fi adventure game, in which the protagonist has the ability to pause time, will launch on both Xbox One and PC on the same date, April 5. Well, to be more specific, the game will launch on Xbox One and Windows 10.
That's right, PC players will need to migrate on over to Windows 10 if they want to play the latest from Remedy Entertainment, the Finnish games studio that developed Alan Wake and Max Payne.
So Microsoft is giving away Quantum Break to PC players, but the company wants something in return.
"For a limited time, anyone who preorders the digital version of Quantum Break for Xbox One through the Xbox Store will receive the Windows 10 version of the game for free, downloadable at the Windows Store via redemption code," says Microsoft.
Microsoft is also honoring digital preorders placed through participating retailers. And it'll also hand out codes for the Windows 10 version of the game to those who purchase the Xbox One Special Edition Quantum Break Bundle by April 4.
Like Fable Legends, Quantum Break will support cross-saves between Windows 10 and the console that has been retrofitted to run the OS – that'd be Xbox One. However, there isn't any cross-play support because Quantum Break is a single player game – there's no online component to facilitate the cross play.
And rounding out the Quantum Break news that just broke, the game's system requirements for PC have been revealed.
