Like all Fallout games before it, Fallout 4's Diamond City serves as a centralized metropolis throughout players' adventures in Boston's post-apocalyptic wasteland. It's full of vendors, doctors and relatively happy citizens - if the world wasn't covered in a blanket of radiation, one might think that Diamond City is just an average town.
That being said, it's hard to miss the robotic noodle chef sitting in the middle of the town square.
Takahasi, the run-down Protectron that owns Power Noodles, has become something of a fan-favorite. Sure, he doesn't speak in anything other than Japanese, and the only thing that players can actually do with Takahashi is order noodles - even so, some fans have dubbed the friendly robot noodle chef as Diamond City's unofficial mascot.
And, as if the idea behind Takahashi wasn't weird enough in the world of Fallout 4, gamers' favorite noodle chef is also making his presence known in the real world. Thanks to Bethesda, Japanese gaming publications have received bowls of 'Nani ni Shimasuka?' instant ramen, complete with Takahashi's robotic visage on the label:
今日のお昼は「ナニニシマスカー?」

As for why Bethesda is randomly sending out bowls of instant ramen, no one's quite sure yet - even if instant ramen is one of the most popular foods in Japan, it doesn't necessarily explain why the publisher started producing it. In all likelihood, it's nothing more than a simple PR stunt - if Bethesda was planning out some sort of big announcement, sending ramen to select Japanese media outlets seems like an odd way to go about it.
Oh, and if you're wondering what the title means, 'Nani ni Shimasuka?' roughly translates to 'What will you have?' - it's the same line that Takahashi speaks every time the player approaches his booth.
ベセスダ・ソフトワークス様から差し入れが届きました! 中身は『Fallout 4』のロボ、タカハシ作のラーメン。その名も「ナニニシマスカ」。……タカハシ、それしか喋れないですからね。ありがとうタカハシ&『Fallout 4』! pic.twitter.com/PP95hXD0W6 — 電撃PlayStation (@dengekips) February 10, 2016
Sadly, there's not much of a chance that Bethesda's Fallout 4 ramen will make it stateside...at the very least, players can still grab some virtual noodles back in Diamond City.
