Apple Music is now finally available on Sonos systems worldwide, about two months after the beta version of the platform was launched.
Sonos launched Apple Music beta through its app on Dec. 15, with users who signed up as testers the only ones that were able to try out the service. Sonos then looked to utilize the beta testing stage to make adjustments to the service before finally launching it on its speakers.
"The feedback from Apple Music members on Sonos during the beta period has been great," said Apple senior VP of Internet software and services Eddy Cue, adding that Sonos would provide Apple Music subscribers with amazing listening experiences.
Sonos CEO John MacFarlane echoed Apple's excitement in the partnership, stating that working with Apple shows two companies that prioritize providing users with great listening experiences for the music that they love.
After hundreds of thousands of users participated in the beta program, the wait is now over, as Apple Music has now been made available to Sonos systems. Users will now be able to access the service's variety of features, which includes For You, Radio and My Music, as well as the entire music streaming library of Apple Music.
Sonos users can access Apple Music by selecting the "Add Music Services" option on the Sonos controller app, which has versions for the iPhone, the iPad, the iPod touch and Mac computers. The Apple Music icon will be listed in the options, and selecting it will allow users to sign in with their accounts.
In addition to the release of Apple Music on Sonos devices, the company also revealed that a Sonos station is also being launched on the service, with the tracks selected through collaborations between Sonos and artists.
Apple Music is the latest music streaming service to join Sonos' list of partners, which already includes rivals Spotify and Pandora, along with smaller players such as Google Play, Tidal, Deezer, and several others.
Late last year, Sonos launched the Play: 5, which is the latest model in the company's line of quality speakers. Reviews on the new speaker saw it as a huge step forward for Sonos, which is a pioneer in the reinvention of home audio for the current digital age.
