Jeep Super Bowl 50 Ads Honor Rich Heritage Of The Brand

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) released two new Jeep ads in celebration of the brand's 75 anniversary this year. The ad debuted at the second half during the game between Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos.

Carrying the tagline "We don't make Jeep, you do," the two ads debuted at the Super Bowl 50 where the brand was given a tribute for its legacy and milestone.

The first ad called "Portraits" is 60-second long, which featured more than 60 images that have been curated globally. These include images of famous actors and musicians such as Aretha Franklin, BB King, Jeff Goldblum and Marilyn Monroe. There are also pop culture moments which featured "The Terminator" and "Jurassic Park."

"In celebration of our 75 years, we salute the faces and the vehicles that embody the spirit of the Jeep brand," said Jeep on its official YouTube page.

The second ad is called "4x4ever" and it also lasts for 60 seconds. It featured the Jeep's appeal to the adventurous rider and showed the vehicle being driven through the forests, snow and deserts.

"When you drive a Jeep 4x4, freedom and adventure become a way of life," said Jeep. "Ride along as Morgan Dorr provides the soundtrack for those who live by a different code. For today, tomorrow, forever."

The Jeep's "Portraits" ad was created in collaboration with Iris New York while the "4x4ever" was made in partnership with DDB Chicago.

Jeep's rich history began in the 1940s when the U.S. military used the Willys MB, Willys MA and Willys Quad.

During the 1970s, Jeep was the first to launch the first ever full-time 4x4 system.

In 1975, Jeep launched Cherokee which became one of the market's first sport utility vehicles.

FCA has announced that it plans to start selling Jeeps in India toward the middle of this year. The company also started building Jeeps in other new locations such as Italy, China and Brazil.

With more than 1.2 million Jeeps sold globally in 2015, it is now seen as FCA's fastest-growing brand and the company aims to reach more than 2 million annual sales of Jeep over the next few years.

Fiat Chrysler is just one of the several automakers that have created ads meant for the Super Bowl. Other automakers include Toyota, Buick, Hyundai, Kia, Honda, Audi and Acura.
