Downloadable content for Call Of Duty: Black Ops III is now available, which brings new maps, fixes and more.
The game's first expansion called Awakening is initially available only for Sony PlayStation 4. Treyarch, the game developer of Call Of Duty: Black Ops III, suggests that the expansion pack will also become available to other platforms in the near term.
"Treyarch's commitment to our fans with Awakening, and all season long, is to keep delivering you the goods," says Mark Lamia, the studio head of Treyarch. "Great times lay ahead for players of Black Ops III, with both finely crafted new maps and reimagined multiplayer classics. And for Zombies fans ... your commitment to us pays off all season long, starting with Der Eisendrache."
Awakening brings four new multiplayer maps: Skyjacked, Rise, Splash and Gauntlet. The expansion also brings a Zombies map called Der Eisendrache.
The expansion pack also brings along a patch that fixes a number of issues reported by Call Of Duty: Black Ops III players.
The game developer has fixed an issue that allowed players to vote for previous maps infinitely.
Some players reported that they were unable to scroll through taunts freely in the Taunts menu when a new taunt was acquired. The patch fixed this issue.
The expansion pack fixes a problem where Leaderboards were not reset properly when players used Prestige Token.
An exploit in the game allowed players to move faster. Treyarch has fixed this exploit.
The game developer has also fixed an issue with the Theater menu. Players were kicked back to the Theater Menu when they attempted to view a merged clip in a Highlight Reel. This issue has now been resolved.
Occasionally, players would not show up on the radar while firing some submachine guns. The patch addresses this problem as well.
Players have reported that GobbleGum users infrequently consumed the wrong player's stock, players are being kicked from a match in a 4-Player split screen and lighting effects not playing on some weapons. Treyarch has addressed all these problems with the new patch.
Gamers reported that they were not able to start the Easter Egg quest after obtaining a specific gun, and have faced visual problems when near Beast Mode altar in the Canal District. Players could pick or purchase items while transforming back from Beast Mode to Human, and also fixed the issue when players would sometimes get stuck after a collision near the KRM wallbuy and power switch locations. These glitches were also resolved with the Awakening expansion.
Treyarch has addressed a number of more issues with the Awakening expansion pack. Gamers can find the full list of fixes from Call Of Duty: Black Ops III community.
Although the latest patch fixes various issues, it also brings along some new problems. Treyarch is aware of some problems and working on a fix for latest snags.
The Awakening DLC pack is currently available at a discounted rate via the Call of Duty: Black Ops III DLC Season Pass.
Customers can also make an individual purchase of DLC Map Packs at a suggested retail price of $14.99.
