Apple is expected to launch the iPad Air 3, iPhone 5se and new Apple Watch bands and software in March. A new report claims the event will take place on March 15.
There have been rumors for a couple months that Apple is planning to hold a press event in March where the company will unveil a new 4-inch iPhone, a successor to the company's flagship iPad Air 2, and Apple Watch updates.
Now a new report from 9To5Mac claims that the event will likely take place on Tuesday, March 15. The company will reportedly focus on three major product categories; iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.
The iPhone 5se will be Apple's first new 4-inch iPhone since the release of the iPhone 5s on Sept. 20, 2013. Many iPhone users were disappointed that Apple appeared to abandon the 4-inch display when it launched the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus in September 2015 but it looks like they will finally get a new 4-inch iPhone with specs similar to Apple's current flagship iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
These features will reportedly include an A9 processor and leaked images show the handset will also gain the iPhone 6s/6s Plus' design. While the iPhone 5se won't include 3D Touch pressure-sensitive displays, it will reportedly support Live Photos like the current flagship iPhones.
The iPhone 5se will also be made available in the same color options as the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, which include Space Gray, Silver, Gold, and Rose Gold. In terms of camera capabilities, the iPhone 5se will reportedly include an 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.2-megapixel front-facing FaceTime camera.
The iPad Air 2 was announced on Oct. 16, 2014 and while Apple had typically updated its 9.7-inch iPads on a yearly basis, its latest flagship tablet is long overdue for an update. That update will come in the form of the iPad Air 3, which is expected to include some of the iPad Pro's features. The tablet is rumored to feature enhanced stereo speakers, Smart Connector for accessories, and an upgraded rear camera with LED flash, which would make the iPad Air 3 the first iPad to include this new feature.
Apple will also update the Apple Watch with new software in the form of watchOS 2.2. The company is also rumored to introduce new watchbands for its wearable; rubberized Sport bands in new colors, new premium Hermès bands, Space Black Milanese Loop, and a new band line that will be made out of entirely new materials.
As always, we'll keep you posted on any additional details as they become available.
