A new Fallout 4 update is live for PC players. It's nothing too crazy, with Bethesda mostly focusing on addressing various quest bugs and other glitches, but fans of MacCready's broken Killshot perk will want to sit down for this one.
The perk that was one of the game's most beneficial accidents is now fixed. Once you've maxed out your relationship with one of the game's companion characters, they grant you a special perk. MacCready's is a permanent 20 percent bonus to headshot accuracy in V.A.T.S., except that was never actually the case. Instead of boosting headshot accuracy by 20 percent, it instead gave every headshot attempt 95 percent accuracy.
It was game-breakingly good, which is why Bethesda has finally gotten around to fixing it. The perk should work as intended now, so expect firefights to be a little more difficult now that you can't snipe bad guys from miles away with a 95 percent chance to hit.
One other perk being addressed is Aquaboy. The perk wasn't working properly, and now it looks like players will be able to enjoy it as it was supposed to be. You'll also find that the Robotics Expert perk is now usable in combat as well.
Outside the perk fixes, players will find that companions can no longer get stuck with radiation poisoning and that subtitles will now update properly. There are also a huge number of quest bugs and companion issues addressed that you'll want to read over.
If building settlements is your favorite pastime, Bethesda has addressed some of the game's crafting problems as well. Building wires no longer uses copper, improvements have been made to the structure "snap" feature while in Workshop mode and a number of various bugs have been corrected.
There is plenty more to browse over on the official Bethesda blog. The update is out now for PC players and will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users later this week.
