Thousands of fans have signed a petition for Snoop Dogg to narrate a season of Sir David Attenborrough's program, "Planet Earth." The rapper has been showing off his flair for narration in the "Plizzanet Earth" segment of the late night show, "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" for fun, but a lot of people appreciate his efforts and want more.
The letter in the petition was addressed to the British Broadcasting Corporation, Animal Planet, Snoop Dogg and Discovery Communications. As of Sunday, the Change.org petition titled "Get Snoop Dogg to Narrate Whole Season of Planet Earth" started by Kelly Ooton received more than 48,000 signatures out of its goal of 50,000.
"Snoop Dogg has narrated some Planet Earth in the past but yo we need him to narrate full episodes. Sign the petition if you agree," Ooton wrote in the petition's description.
Watch a segment narrated by the rapper below and determine for yourself if signing the petition makes sense.
It seems Snoop Dogg was pleased with the support he is receiving through the petition because he tweeted about it, telling everyone to keep it going.
Ooton was more than happy to find out that the rapper appreciated the effort.
"[Y]ou guys, Snoop Dogg has seen the petition and is promoting it. This is a HUGE development, and all I know is we gon keep this going! Thank you guys for all your support, and big thanks to Snoop Dogg himself!" Ooton wrote on Friday.
Neither Animal Planet nor Sir David Attenborrough has responded to the petition so everyone will just have to wait and see if it will be taken seriously by the network. What everyone knows for sure is that, should the network take the suggestion into consideration, Snoop Dogg is ready to take on the role.
