There must have been occasions when you started a join.me meeting from your iPad but wanted to pass the presenter's role to some other participants, but couldn't. Well, there's an update now that addresses the shortcoming.
The new update to join.me iPad app will allow users to start a conversation on the go and eventually pass the presenter's role to other participants. The feature is being simply being called "presenter swap" feature.
The new update along with hosting capability will work in combination with the active join.me pro accounts. Pro users can pass on the presenter's role to any participating user either through a computer or an iPad. However, attending the meeting is free for everyone.
The "presenter swap" feature is available under the "Participants" or under the "Meeting Tools" button present in the presenter toolbar. Clicking on the raised hand next to any participant will pass the presenter's role. The participant will also be prompted to either accept or deny the presenter's role.
After the participant has accepted the presenter's role, the join.me tool bar will turn green and a window will appear showing the current presenter's screen.
"Just like email or web browsing, we believe hosting a meeting from an iPad should be just as easy, or easier, than from the desktop," said Lou Orfanos, Senior Director of Collaboration Products for LogMeIn. "With today's workforce increasingly reliant on mobile devices for their work, we felt like this new functionality was critical to creating an elegant, yet simple mobile meeting experience."
The updated join.me iPad app is now fully compatible to latest iOS 7. Here are some other features that the app also includes-
- Join and host meeting via single app
- Record or share any join.me online meeting (audio)
- Easily open files from cloud apps for quick sharing
- Talk to participants via VoIP without additional charges
- Control meetings via "lock" feature which will prevent any other participants from joining in anonymously.
- Invite attendees via an email for joining into a join.me session
