Mobile charging technology is getting hotter everyday. Earlier we came across the uber-cool Nokia wireless charging pillow by Fatboy which was a huge leap forward into mobile charging technology. And now, carrying the mobile charging innovation forward, Mimoco is introducing BatteryBot, a character-based rechargeable backup battery for mobile devices.
Mimoco's the same company that introduced USB drives that looked like the cool characters from the movies.
The unique product by Mimoco has been made in collaboration with Consumer Electronics Design Studio, which is based in Boston. The company will be starting off with 10 initial designs from their Animal Critterz and Core Series collections.
Presently the product is in Kickstarter and they have already raised more than half of the pledged goal. If you happen to pledge $50 now, you are going to get a licensed $80 BatteryBot right out of the production line. Feeling generous? Pledge $400 and you'll get a hard-numbered limited edition set of all ten original BatteryBots in a special collector's case. The estimated delivery date of all BatteryBots is June 2014.
Packed with 5200mAh capacity, BatteryBot offers a charging time of 5 hours and a very impressive cycle life of 500 full charges. The backup battery charger with character also sports a LED light-up feet as charging and battery indicator.
BatteryBot will be compatible with almost any 5V device, which are powered via USB. This will include Apple products like iPhone, iPad Mini, iPad and iPod. Samsung Galaxy line of smartphones, tablets and phablets, LG Nexus, HTC Droid, Nokia Lumia, Amazon Kindle, and many others devices (BatteryBot can be used to charge Jawbone and Jawbox, Nintendo DS, Pebble, Google Glass, and TomTom GPS) are also compatible with the charger.
