Through his Twitter account, Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hryb, more popularly known as Major Nelson, revealed a new feature that is coming to Microsoft's Xbox One gaming console in a future system update.
The feature is the ability for gamers to move their pins on the Xbox One menu, which would be very much welcomed by users that love to arrange their things in a specific way.
In the video that is attached to Hryb's tweet, it can be seen that the menu that is accessed when choosing a pinned video game or app will have a "move" option, which will allow the gamer to place the pin on any position among the pinned games and apps. Alternatively, gamers can also simply press the Y button on the Xbox One controller to initiate the moving process for the pin.
The Xbox One system update that will be including the feature is expected to arrive in a few weeks, with the update currently undergoing testing. The update mostly focuses on social features.
One of the features that will be included in the update is the ability for players to see the members of a party before choosing to join one.
The Party feature was teased by Xbox engineering head Mike Ybarra earlier in the month through his Twitter account. The addition of the feature would indicate that Microsoft and the Xbox team are really listening to feedback provided by its users, as the ability to see the members of a party before joining it was one of the features that have received significant support in the online Xbox One Community.
It has not been indicated, however, whether the update will be able to fix the stuttering video playback issue that Xbox One users have been complaining about.
One user has described the issue as a slight pause, a sudden catch-up or a freezing of videos, with the audio not being affected. The incident occurs randomly and could last between one second to three seconds.
For gamers looking forward to a neater home menu, the Party feature and hopefully a fix on the video stuttering issue, the wait ensues.
